El Dorado is a small friendly Mexican restaurant is surrounded by Korean shops such as Suno Dessert and Scissor Hands on Pleasant Hill. Unlike Tex-Mex that you’ll find everywhere else, El Dorado offers real Mexicans dishes such as cow tongue tacos, tortas, fajitas and more with half of the menu written in Spanish that I don’t have a clue on what it means.
A real Mexican restaurant with Spanish clientele always means real good Mexican food.
Unlike your typical Cuban sandwiches, their version of Cuban sandwiches makes the other restaurants look pitiful. It’s composed of breaded beef, two types of cheeses, ham, chorizo, beans spread, avocado, lettuce and tomatoes on fluffy torta bread. If you’re not worry about getting a heart attack, you should dive into this behemoth sandwich. This sandwich barrages your taste buds with waves after waves of meaty goodness. You’re not going to find this on their menu since it’s a secret item and the only way I founded out was by asking the Spanish group on the other table on what they were shoving the monstrosity down their throats last year.
They call this baby the burrito special. This gigantic mouthwatering burrito is stuffed with seasoned chicken tomatoes and caramelized onions with the whole thing covered in creamy queso cheese. The rice and beans were astonishingly good as well.
If you like chorizo and eggs, might as well combine them both and make it sandwich.
I’ve been going here for years and this place has always impresses me. If you’re looking for some really good Mexican food that will fill you up and won’t hurt your wallet, check out El Dorado for an enjoyable experience!
