Finding parking at Fat Matt’s can be difficult especially around noon when everyone is rushing there for lunch. After waiting in the parking lot and fighting other cars, we managed to get a parking spot and were greeted by a long line of people waiting to order their food. If you’re not a big fan of long lines but do not fear! Their line move very quickly and the turnover rate for tables are pretty high. Fat Matt’s meat menu isn’t extensive but they focus on what they’re good at and that is ribs.
After trying many subpar BBQ ribs joints around where I live due to convenience, I soon quickly realized making that little extra effort driving down to Atlanta for Fat Matt’s was probably one of the smartest thing I ever did. The rib was fall off the bone amazing! The meat was so tender that it almost melted in my mouth. The extra sauce on the side was thoughtful but the rib had the right amount that it wasn’t needed. The mac and cheese was cheesy and creamy like it should with a good amount of pepper to spice things up. The collar green was really, really good that I couldn’t even taste a hint of bitterness at all.
