Highland Bakery – Atlanta, GA

Highland Bakery has three locations but the one in this review is located in Old Fourth Ward neighborhood. Finding a parking spot could be somewhat difficult so expect to do some light walking and well verse in parallel parking. Owner of Highland Bakery, Stacey Eames, started her career in selling coffee around Atlanta to having the place to visit for breakfast and baked goods.

 

This is just one picture of the goodies. I couldn’t take anymore since it was crowded with too many people.

 

I was never a really big fan of French toast to begin with until I tried Highland Bakery. They will offer you a very large portion using challah bread with French cream and a side of brown sugar butter on the side. The challah bread was so deliciously good that it literally melts in your mouth. I didn’t even bother to use the brown sugar butter since the French toast was already amazing as it is.

 

If you love egg benedict and you’re planning on checking this place out, getting the fried chicken benedict is a MUST. This is probably the best variation of egg benedict I have ever had. Period. Instead of your typical hollandaise sauce, it is replaced with a jalapeƱos cheddar cheese. The complexity of the flavors is out of this world when it is combined with the buttery biscuit, crispy fried chicken, and the runny eggs.

 

The grits was super rich and creamy but it was very bland. With a couple dashes of salt and pepper made the grits came alive.
