Oh! My Samgyupsal is hidden all the way in the back of a shopping center on Peachtree Industrial Blvd and the only reason why I’ve heard of it was through glowing reviews from my friends. With a bajillion of Korean All-You-Can-Eat BBQ restaurants that are scattered around Gwinnett, I was a bit skeptical when they told me it was cheaper, high quality food, and better service. Boy was I completely wrong. The menu starts at $15 dollars which includes beef brisket and different variations of marinated pork belly. For a couple of dollars more, it comes with charcoal pork belly along with their spicy marinate. A good perk about eating here is that waiters/waitresses actually cook and cut up the meat so the only thing you need to worry about is just jamming it down your mouth.
We started out our dinner with the thinly sliced Angus beef brisket and at that moment, I knew I was in for a roller coaster ride of meat euphoria. The meat quality was by a far better and fresher than the pricier Iron Age by a huge margin.
We went ahead and ordered the pork belly that was marinated in wine. The pork was fresh and you could actually taste the distinct wine that’s infused into the meat.
The best part of the meal was the thinly sliced pork belly. Of all the places around Gwinnett, Oh! My Samgyupsal is the only place that I know that offers this. The paper thin meat cooks way faster and it almost melts in your mouth. I’m surprised other Korean joints don’t serve this.
